DM NATIVE exists to make private communication the default, not a premium feature. We believe messaging should be secure by architecture — protected by mathematics, not by promises — and free from advertising, metadata harvesting, and corporate surveillance.
Legacy platforms route your conversations through centralized servers that can read, profile, and monetize them. We set out to build the opposite: an application where the people running the service have no technical ability to read your messages, listen to your calls, or sell your data.
"Private messaging" has become a marketing slogan attached to apps that still collect contact graphs, log behavior, and reserve the right to change their privacy terms at any time. We wanted a messenger whose privacy could not be quietly revoked by a policy update — because the protection is built into how the system works, not into what a company pledges. If we are ever compelled to hand over data, the honest answer for your message content and keys is simply: we don't have it.
DM NATIVE is built on open, audited cryptography rather than proprietary claims. Messages are end-to-end encrypted using the Signal Protocol; voice and video calls connect peer-to-peer over encrypted WebRTC. Encryption keys are generated and held on your device. Our backend runs on a global edge network, and we keep operational metadata to the minimum required to deliver your messages — never a complete record of who you talk to.
